Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) is very trendy part of the business – many companies around the world are active in this segment. Catch words like intelligent logistic solutions, EPC, ICAO, intelligent supply chain, auto ID, NFC are used by many adventurers new in this exciting business. United Access is convinced that there are several applications which are ideal for RFID solutions – like building access, animal identification or public transport. On the other hand we observe a lot of unsolved technical questions or at least problems of practical usage. Logistic applications like palette identification are a perfect example: under laboratory conditions all problems are solved – in practice several blocking points remain. In many fields of application (like identification of single milk bottles) the traditional bar code will persist – there is simply no business case for RFID solutions.

United Access is mainly active in building access and other short range applications like secure contact less PC access and public transport. We offer readers, OEM modules (125 kHz and 13,56 MHz) and RFID tags of all kind (cards, key fobs, sticky tapes, epoxy disks).

One special strength of United Access is the cross over business: bringing security (based on classical security controllers with cryptograhic capabilites) into RFID systems.


Contact less RFID smart cards consist of a chip module, an antenna and laminated sheets.

The antenna and the module can be in the high frequency range of 13,56 MHz or low frequency range of 125 kHz.

The antenna layout may limit the possibilites of additonal contact chip embedding.

Based on JCOP United Access has developed a multi purpose Security Access Module [SAM] for handling of symmetric keys. For administrative purposes a so called central security module [CSM] is the counterpart in the secure back end and functions as the central security component. That is the way a real end-to-end security scheme can be enforced.


As an alternative plattform we offer the Infineon SLE88CFX4000p high-end microcontroller for SAM applications based on PROTOS. Typically this platform is used for tailor made SAMs and dedicated applications. This platform offers all possibilities in terms of performance, security and flexibility. The final SAM application is defined together with the customer and implemented by us. United Access delivers the ready made, initialized SAM.

Additionally United Access offers key management systems [KMS] for generation, administration and secure backup of symmetric keys.

We also offer dedicated SAMs for certain applications like for Eurochip based telephony cards, my-d based RFID token, Mifare based applications and others like the Infineon SICRYPT easySAM.
